Complete the Interview
Every principal applicant must attend an interview conducted virtually or in person. A dependant aged 16 or above may also be asked to attend.

Government Review and Decision
The Program Office completes its risk assessment and recommendation. The application then proceeds through the prescribed government process for a final decision.

Pay the Contribution
If approval in principle is granted, the applicant pays the qualifying contribution and remaining government charges through the authorised channels.

Take the Oath of Allegiance
Citizenship cannot be conferred until the applicant completes the Oath or Affirmation of Allegiance. This may be completed through an approved audio-visual process or before an authorised person where permitted.

Receive Citizenship Documentation
After all requirements have been completed, the successful applicant receives their Certificate of Citizenship.
